Mahindra and Mahindra Limited, headquartered in Mumbai, India, is a multination automobile manufacturing company which was setup in 1945. One of the largest vehicle manufacturers in India, they are also the largest seller of tractors across globe.
The 10th most trusted brand in India by The Brand Trust Report and grabbed 21st rank in Fortune India 500 in 2011. Formerly it was called Mahindra and Mohammad because of its owners, K.C. Mahindra, J.C. Mahindra and Malik Ghulam Mohammad. Mohammad migrated to Pakistan after partition and the company was renamed as Mahindra and Mahindra in 1948.
Mahindra manufactures SUVs, Saloon cars, Pickup trucks, commercial vehicles and two wheeled motorcycles. They started with assembly under the license of Willys Jeep in India and soon got into Jeep manufacturing in India. It has assembly plants in India, UK and USA and has good business relations with Renault.

Mahindra Xylo was launched in 2009 and had 15000 units sold within six months. Mahindra launched XUV 500 in September 2011 between Rs 11.40 lakh to Rs 15 lakh and is expected to launch XUV 500 hybrid in 2015. The company also builds and assembles military vehicles and farm equipment.
