The company has two state-of-art manufacturing plants in India located at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu with combined capacity of 600,000 units annually. Since the year 2007, Hyundai also owns a R&D facility in Hyderabad.
Hyundai i10 was launched in 2007 in the same hatchback segment with an idea to replace Santro suiting the needs of the people and was recognized as the car of the year in 2008.
This competitive car in the Indian segment is available with nine variants, and with two different engine options. Two variants (D-lite and Era) of Hyundai i10 are equipped with 1.1L, 1086 cc, IRDE (Intelligent Responsive Drive Engine) petrol engine with manual transmission gearbox. The rest seven variants are powered by its popular 1.2L, 1197 cc, Kappa engine which is known for fuel efficiency.
Eon was launched in India in 2011 and offered an 814cc three-cylinder petrol engine that generates 55 bhp and 75 Nm torque.
